During the 12th, 22nd and 26th of May, Taller Baix Camp organized their national workshops on handcrafted air fresheners, soaps and candles. The goal of these activities it is no other than to engage elderly people in active ageing, and, at the same time, promote social interaction.

Across the three workshops, a total of 44 seniors participated. With the support of educators specialized in elderly people, they carried out various craft activities such as cutting paraffin to make candles, pouring liquid soap into moulds, and decorating handmade air fresheners with dried fruit, creating their own artisanal products like candles, soaps, and air fresheners, which they could bring back home.
These workshops offered a great opportunity for seniors to express their creativity while also forming new social connections in a friendly and educational environment. Additionally, the activities provided tools and ideas that participants could later replicate at home, encouraging an active lifestyle.
Through a questionnaire distributed to both participants and facilitators, all the workshops received positive feedback. The dedication of the facilitators was particularly praised, as well as the friendly atmosphere among the seniors.
Many thanks to the entire Taller Baix Camp team and to all the participants who made this initiative possible. We would also like to thank the “Gregal Civic Centre” for providing us with their facilities for the workshop on handmade air fresheners.
